Creating your own home cinema system is a dream for many of us. We thought we’d take a look at this installation completed by renowned home cinema installation experts Custom Controls. They have managed to create a wonderful entertainment space for their clients at a price that won’t break the bank.
Don’t worry about having a massive room to fit in a home cinema like this. This cinema room was actually created in a relatively small 6 by 5 metre room. We love the projector used in this installation. It is a large 150-inch wide projector, which is around 4 metres, and offers a truly wonderful visual experience. The projector is a Sony VPL-VW760ES 4k projector, which has a huge 2,000 lumens and has been praised for making use of world-leading technology.
To maximise space and to make the cinema room appear less cluttered, there are a number of Artcoustic speakers, which are placed behind the projector. You may notice that there are Spitfire 24-12 speakers at the front left, centre and right of the projector screen. To give the audio a little bit more of a boost, the installers have also fitted two high quality Control 3 subwoofers.
By making use of the Anthem ARC software that is installed, it is possible to have the full room EQ managed and calibrated automatically. We feel that this produces a revolutionary audio experience that few other cinema rooms can match.
In terms of seating, the owner decided to install two rows of chairs – with individual chairs placed in the front row of the cinema, with two seat sofas in the back row, which are slightly raised, making it perfect for lounging around on. To hold your food and drink, there are tables between the seats.
The cinema room makes use of a Lighting Control system. The system automatically sets the lamps in the room at the correct level when you are watching your films.
In terms of acoustics, this home cinema installation is cutting edge. Custom Controls fitted a full acoustic fleece wrap on the walls of the room, before applying another top layer of fabric to the wall to improve the sound that little bit more.
