Let’s analyze one by one Ninja Professional Blender’s main features.
Since this is a tool that is going to stand on your kitchen counter, the design has its importance. The Ninja Professional Blender is carefully designed, with a matte black finish and a transparent pitcher. Its dimensions (10.6 x 8.2 x 15.8 inches) are those of a common mixer but manufacturers also wanted to provide a compact design. The blender doesn’t have any prominent part, the base and the pitcher have almost the same width and length size, so that the space on your countertop can be optimized.
Motor Power and blade design are the couple of features that determine the actual quality and performance of a blender. The Ninja Professional Blender features a powerful 1000 watt professional-grade motor that provides power and energy to smash fruit and vegetables – and even crush ice – in an efficient and quick way.
Blade Design and Material
There are blender blades on the market made from various materials among which the strongest and best performing is certainly stainless steel. Stainless steel can be made very sharp and, most importantly, it can maintain its shape over time. The Ninja Professional Blender is provided with a 6 stainless steel blade assembly that allows you to blend ingredients quickly and smoothly.
The Ninja Professional Blender features a large 72oz transparent pitcher with a liquid capacity of max 64oz. This is basically the standard Ninja pitcher: even more expensive and more powerful Ninja blenders feature the same 72oz pitcher. This is, in fact, a capacity that will allow you to prepare drinks and smoothies for the entire family. The pitcher is made from BPA-free Plastic and can be put in the dishwasher.
While you can wipe the motor surface with a damp cloth, the Ninja Professional Blender also features dishwasher-safe parts: the pitcher, lid and blade assembly can be washed into the dishwasher (the manufacturers recommends to put the lid and blade assembly on the top rack).
When the unit is plugged in and the pitcher is locked on the base in the proper position, you’ll see a red light blinking. If the jar isn’t locked properly, the blender wouldn’t turn on.
Also, the blender doesn’t turn on if the lid arrows don’t match up, the pitcher handle isn’t in the locked position, or if you have overfilled the pitcher with too many ingredients.
The Ninja Professional Blender also features thermal protection. When the unit gets overheat the blender doesn’t work. When this happens, you can simply unplug the blender and wait about 15 minutes before using it again.
How to use Ninja Blender?
The use of the Ninja Professional Blender is super easy, just like any common mixer’s. You can fill the pitcher with fruit and vegetables, ice, nuts, seeds, and more; make sure the pitcher it is properly locked to the base, and turn the blender on. It is provided with four-speed options:
- PULSE-controlled processing and chopping
- Speed 1: when you need to mix
- Speed 2: when you need to Blend
- Speed 3: when you need to crush ice or frozen fruits.
So, what can you do with the Ninja Professional Blender? All these features just to prepare smoothies during the summer? You can actually make a lot more.
- Drinks. You can prepare any drink and frozen drink, e.g. ice-cold margaritas.
- Smoothies. You can prepare smoothies from both frozen or fresh fruits.
- Juice. You can make juices that are better than extracted juice (the one you buy at the supermarket) since the Ninja Blender juice would include both the juice and pulp from the fruits so that no healthy nutrient would go wasted.
- Ice-cream. Since the device is able to crush ice and reduce fruits and vegetables to smooth creams, you can make soft ice-cream with the Ninja Blender, as well as sorbets.
- Nut butter. The Ninja Blender can grind nuts into butter.
- Sauces, Dips, and sides. You can use any vegetables you want to prepare different recipes and invent new ones. The Ninja Professional Blender’s only limit is that it can’t prepare hot meals 😀.
Where to buy Ninja Blender Replacement parts?
You can buy replacement parts – but also additional accessories such as a second pitcher – in the ‘parts and accessories’ section of the NinjaKitchen official website. We particularly liked the webpage structure: since you have to indicate your Ninja Blender model first, you can make sure you’re purchasing accessories and parts that are 100% compatible with your Ninja Professional Blender. You can also buy Ninja Replacement Parts on Amazon.

Review from a HealthCare Professional

I’m a healthcare professional and bought this after researching the competition (i.e., “Vita-Mix). After reading through a gazillion comments and reviews (including CR who rates the Ninja #2) I opted for the lower-priced Ninja.
I have used mine twice a day for the 6 weeks I have owned it, I use it for making smoothies. I blend for health, I have a morning fruit and berry smoothie and I have an afternoon veggie smoothie. Blending is a really convenient way to get in all your servings of fruit and veggies each day without removing the (very important) fiber.
So far, I love my Ninja. I have had stuff made with a Vita-Mix in the past, but have never done a side by side comparison, though I can think of a few differences that are meaningful for me.
One, the Vita-Mix generates heat. They use it as a selling feature, that you can use it to make soups, but I like my smoothies cold, so it’s not something I look for in a blender. Secondly, Vita-Mix seems to win in all the comparisons with Ninja on smoothness, or thoroughness of blending. The only reason I knocked one star off the Ninja is because I have noticed that my smoothies are a bit chewier after several weeks of blender use.
I attribute that to the fact that Ninja relies (apparently) on their sharp blades, which naturally dull with use-especially when blending frozen berries or ice (which both of my smoothies contain). I’ve noticed a subtle change in texture, no chunks, but definitely not a fine blend.
My understanding is that Vita-Mix has dull blades that work for years, they do not rely so much on sharpness as they do on speed? The other thing (in addition to heat) that you get with a Vita-Mix is aeration (foam), which I do not notice with the Ninja. My smoothies are full of fruit and veggies, so they are full of fiber.
If you are okay with having some noticeable fiber in your blend over time, the Ninja is a great deal at about 1/5 the cost. If that matters to you, expect that you will have it in time (I started to notice it after about 25 blends).
The blender cleans very easily and is simple to use. I’ve never had to remove the top to tamp stuff down and I use 3 cups of leafy greens like kale and arugula, as well as whole carrots, celery, apples, and never have chunks. Overall it’s a great machine. I cannot rate longevity since I’ve only had it 6 weeks, but so far I’m very pleased.
I love this thing.

If you think this can’t make amazing smoothies, you have no idea how to make a proper smoothie. I’m convinced some of you are trying to blend frozen rocks in this.
If your freezer isn’t set too high and you layer things in the blender the right way this thing is fantastic. Unless you’re obliterating something frozen don’t ever put frozen things on the bottom. You want liquid, soft items, cold-but-not-frozen items and THEN top it with all the frozen things. Pulse twice to settle it into place and then graduate low-medium-high and let blend for 30 seconds.
The explosive pitcher is slightly concerning but I noticed they all crack and break in the same place so for an extra whopping three dollars I bought cute duct tape and reinforced the middle of the pitcher. A mild inconvenience for how well this works

I love this blender! This is the third one I have bought. One for work, one for myself at home and one for a gift for a friend. Best blender for the price. It’s a little loud, but you can expect that with the wattage this thing has!
Here are some Frequently asked questions about the Ninja Professional Blender 1000 Watts model.
Is the pitcher made of glass?
The pitcher is made of durable plastic and for a reason. Plastic is shatterproof, therefore the blender has more power. Blenders with glass pitchers typically have less power and are not as efficient.
How Loud is the blender?
It has a normal sound for a blender. Some people find it a bit loud when crushing ice due to the extra force the blender is putting.
Can this grind nuts into small bits or powder?
You can use the Ninja® Professional 72oz Countertop Blender to chop up nuts. We recommend using the Pulse function in short bursts until you get the desired results.
How easy is this to take apart to clean?
Extremely easy to take apart – about fifteen seconds to do this – and very easy to clean! There are only three individual parts to dis-assemble other than the motor base.
Other Blenders to Consider
Ninja – the company that makes this blender – is not the only one that manufactures quality blenders for home use. Its competitors – Vita-Mix, Kitchen-aid, and many others are also in this market. Below are some other blenders to consider
